The Power Of Personal Branding

You read and hear about it all over the place right? “You need to build YOU.Inc, your brand..” but do you really understand The Power of Personal Branding?

First off, lets talk about what Personal Branding really is because I believe most people a bit of a misconception of what it really means to brand yourself.

If you ‘get’ this next line, you will understand it’s true power…

“Personal Branding is nothing more than Other People’s Perception of YOU”

Read that line again, because it’s very powerful.

Don’t bother going up there, here it is again.. “Personal Branding is nothing more than Other People’s Perception of YOU”

You might be asking, “then HOW do I change people’s perception of me, and is that ethical?”

Let me answer the HOW questions first. If you want to view as an expert, and a leader in any particular field or niche, you must DO as leaders DO and provide massive value to your community. This is the fastest way to change people’s perception of you because they’ll start seeing you as an excellent source of information and someone to look for when they need help.

Now, is changing people’s perception of you ethical?

YES, there’s nothing unethical about it. The point of building a personal brand is to put the best YOU out there for people to see. The PERSON you always wanted to be. There’s no need to lie about who you are, or how successful you’ve been if you follow the 3SW’s.

& So What if they don’t..

The power behind personal branding lies in your ability to add value to people’s lives. One you helped enough people get what they want, you in turn will get everything that you want. (Zig Ziglar). Take that challenge and you’ll be surprised with the results.
